Dear Forum: My wife and I are regular readers of the Forum. We enjoy reading about the experiences of others, but never thought anything like that could happen to us. Boy were we wrong! It happened one weekend. We decided to visit some old college friends, Mary and Todd. I had always found Mary attractive and to my pleasant surprise, she still looked as hot as she did in college. Wait ... is the Penthouse Forum? Oops, Sorry. (This is so embarrassing.) Eddie L;, Akron, OH ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dear Lincoln Forum, I just joined Costco. They have everything. However, you have to buy it in large, "wholesale" packages. I bought a case of 2,000 sugar packets. That's a five year supply for me, but what a bargain! (Note to your marketing department: I could not find a case of Abraham Lincoln anywhere in the store.) While I was there I met a man who played baseball and ate McDonald's in Russia. In America everyone does those things, but in Russia it's something to talk about. That reminded me that today -- 62 years after we ended WWII by dropping atomic bombs on Japan -- we buy Japanese products and cheer Japanese baseball players and watch Iron Chef. Fifty years from now, will we be buying Al Queda brand hovercars and cheering Eddie bin Laden in the World Series? My question/comment about Lincoln is ... um ... well .... OK, I don't have a Lincoln question but thanks for listening. P Fenster, no relation (to Eddie bin Laden). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Abraham Lincoln Forum, I thought your readers would like to know there's another Lincoln case they can buy at amazon.com. Although yours is less expensive, the Collector's Edition Lincoln Logs with Wooden Case is -- as stated -- a collector's edition. (I used to collect Lincoln Logs, but then I turned 10.) The Collector's Edition Lincoln Logs with Wooden Case can be used to build houses, forts and jet planes that look like houses. I'm sure your book has many uses too. For Lincoln Log collectors who are interested, here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/Knex-Collectors-Lincoln-Logs-Wooden/dp/B00004TTZL P Fenster (no relation to David Fenster, a lawyer in Bennington, VT) Dear Julie, Your Lincoln book which should be called "Law & Order: Trial By Lincoln" is the best book my sister has written all year. It is much better than "Lincoln in 1856 for Dummies". And don't get me started about the flaws in "A Complete Idiot's Guide to People v. Anderson and Anderson". As I see it, your only competition is "Lincoln 1856: Out of the Ashes" for Playstation 3 and XBox 360. Please tell all your friends and families to buy your book. Yours truly, P Fenster, no relation (to Kansas City Royal's second bagger Darren Fenster); also no relation to Lincoln Dear P Fenster, Thank you for your touchingly sincere endorsement. I know it is completely objective, because your viewpoint has yet to be sullied by reading the book. That is very probably the best time to write an endorsement of a book written by one's sister. - Bim ----- |
